Happy 1st Birthday Milian!!
Poor Max got a tired, burned out big Momma for his Birthday planning this year.
It's hard because, 1st it's Thanksgiving, then right away MayPie's Birthday, then Christmas, then the "forgotten" Birthday, then New Years, then finally Mr. Max's Birthday....and that's all within 8 weeks. AND, I'm 23 weeks prego!! (tired!) So, by the time I started planning his Birthday bash it was the 1st of the year and I only had a few weeks. I had so much fun doing it though and I'm sure if I would have spent 4 months planning it, I still would not of gotten everything done. But, I did it in a little amount of time and loved making it special for our little man!
With my vision and Matt's computer geek skills....
the invitations turned out exactly how I wanted them!
Still only 2 lower front teeth!
Happy 1st Birthday Budders!
The only shot with his hat on. He HATES hats.
Go for it dude...
I made Max his own personal red velvet cake.
The only reason I picked red velvet is because it matched his birthday party...duh!
Well....I had NO idea he would go this crazy over it and make a HUGE mess!!
It did make for some great photos though!
And it ALL came out of his clothes!
I did throw out his onesie, but it came out of his shirt, bib and pants.
I got off all the extra big chucks in the sink with cold water, then soaked and washed in cold...
you would never know this disaster ever happened!
Before the party, I thought about how cute it would be to have all the kids in Max's room
for a photo op...it worked out so much better in my head!
There was about 13 kids and as you can see, not all are pictured.
The Morell kids were extremely thrilled with my brilliant idea!
Max's 1st Birthday party table!
I made lemon cake pops with white chocolate coating, red velvet cupcakes with cream cheese frosting
and Amy made her famous sugar cookies...M's, 1's and of course O's!
I thought...how cute would it be to have a Cheerio box cake?!
Well...knowing that I could NEVER make one to look good...I would have one made....right?!
So, I went to 2 different places and gave them my invitation to copy..."ohh we can do that!!"
Perfect...Sweet Cakes in Kirkland won the bid (which was placed 2.5 weeks before the party)
and look how it turned out...
To say the least big Momma (me) was not happy, because I could have done a better job then this...
and are you kidding me?? A phone call was placed and I was refunded half my money.
Totally not worth it...but I learned my lesson.
I now want to take the cake decorating class from Michaels. (errr!)
But, please really??
When I hung up the phone with Sweet Cakes, I made the decision to not let it ruin the party. (I was NOT happy.) And it did not!! I got over it fast!
Gift bags for the 13 kids at the party.
I spent so much time making them and yep....forgot to hand them out when they left. :(
Mr. Milian was spoiled by all his family and friends.
Thank you all so much!
He no longer has to play with pink and purple princess stuff!
We had just a "few" friends and family over to celebrate!
View to my right while opening presents...
...view straight out...
...and view to my left!
No pressure at all!
Of course baby Sloane was here to par take!
So, that was the Milians 1st Birthday party in a nutshell!
We had a great time with everyone and appreciate all the awesome boy toys and clothes.
Thank you to all for making Max's 1st milestone very special to all of us!
We love you Milian and here's to many, many more Birthdays and partys!
Until next year....
CHEERIOs!! :)
