We had Thanksgiving at Mimi and Bobba's with all of us regulars.
It was tons of fun, food and laughs.
Always thankful for family and good friends that feel like family.

Miles marked his spot on Uncle Jon.

happy 4th birthday my lady love

Woot woot!
 Mayson Mary Morell is 4!
We started off the morning with a long dance and lots of singing and clapping!
We danced around the kitchen like a bunch of loony birds and I'm totally ok with it!
If that helps at all to get rid of the 3's then I will dance all day long! :)
We made sticky buns for breakfast and talked all about her day!

We brought chocolate cupcakes with chocolate frosting in for her class at school.
They all sang to May and gave her an awesome card.

If Max knew just how to say it, I think he would have told
Miss Megan to get on with the cupcakes already!
Max has no problem pulling up a chair
and making himself right at home in May's class.

They are coming Morells...I promise!

There you go!

The 1st of 3 cupcakes that day.

After school and after naps, DawnK came up for some birthday time.
She brought princess presents and Mayson once again freaked out with excitement.
She hoards everything up in her room to keep it away from Maxie.
Dawn got her a princess blanket that May layed out on her
floor as if it were a rich man's rug! :)
Mimi came over too for birthday hugs and got MayPie the cutest pair of purple boots and jacket!
So cute! Now, I'm hoping I can keep this jacket on her!

Once Matt got home we bombed out to the dirty bird...yes, Red Robin!

A song was sang and she loved the idea of her ice cream more then she loved the ice cream.
I think she maybe took 1 bite. Dumpy wasn't too impressed either.
It's all part of the fun anyway. I'm sure after her 3rd cupcake,
a sundae couldn't really sound all that good! :)

Once home from the bird, May got to open our presents.
I should have recorded her when she opened the jewelry box.
You would have thought we just bought her a brand new car/house.
Ohh...the little things that are the big things when you are 4.

Max just so wants something, anything. At this point I don't think he even cares if it is
something princess and sparkly...just give him something.

But, nope. It goes up to her room to be laid out in her way of organizing!
Although, she did play walkie talkies for a tad bit with him.
It really was just these two knuckle heads listening to static.

Loved downloading these pics and finding these two yahoos taking self portraits!

Who does Miles look like?! Ugh...idk...maybe his dad?!

K..Miles...do your blue steal look. Love them! :)
Happy happy birthday MayPie!
We love all of you...from your pretty little head to your stinky little toes,
and all your attitude in the middle! Well, maybe we could do with just a little less tude?
But nonetheless we love you to pieces and we are so excited to welcome you being
4!
Your my girl forever...my favorite girl...I love you more!

a week long celebration

Just like every other birthday person I know, Mayson is no different.
She starts to celebrate as soon as she can. This year she started a week early.
Uncle Kevin, Aunt Angela, Kai and Brando sent their package from NV early.
They are a little organized as always! :)
No complaints from this little soon to be 4 year old.
We came home to the package at the door and she about had a heart attack
waiting for Matt to get home to open it.

Finally it's go time.

Barbie movie!

Barbie dolls...

...yes Max there is 2 dolls!

Dad's excited too!

Lip stick that is really a flash light!

And a barbie skirt that turns into wings!
Seriously...she was on cloud 9 the rest of the night.

Dumpy was too with the box!

Don't worry sis, he doesn't want your barbies or lipstick...he just wants
to try to figure out how to stuff himself in the box. Good luck brother.
Let the birthday week begin!
It was a fun way to start it all off...here we go...
and here's to 4!
Good bye 3's!
It's been fun, but see you later 3...I'm so over you. :)
Thanks for the awesome gifts...as always!

one red rose in november

This time of year is always a little hard for me.
It brings up a lot of memories with my mom that sometimes aren't the
happiest, healthiest ones to remember.
It's things like this that put a smile on my face and a tear in my eye.
One red rose on one little vine in our back yard blooming as if it were July.
Of course, I would like to think it's a little something from my mom...so that's
exactly what I'm going to think.

Also, on my mom's memorial card for her service we had this poem on it:

If Roses Grow In Heaven

If Roses grow in Heaven, Lord,
please pick a bunch for me,
Place them in my Mother's arms
and tell her they're from me.

Tell her, I love her and I miss her,
and when she turns to smile,
place a kiss upon her cheek
and hold her for awhile.

Remembering her is easy,
I do it every day,
but there's an ache within my heart
that will never go away.

Matt took these for me today. When he came in he told
me he took some pictures that were a few of my mom's favorite things.
We love you momma.
